Privacy policy
Your chats stay with Instagram. Here is what Doomless collects, why, and how you can control it.
Updated October 30, 2026
Who we are
Doomless is developed and operated by Atul Yadav, an individual developer using the name Wyre Fox. Doomless is an Android app that helps limit scrolling in your normal Instagram app. This policy covers Doomless and its pages on wyrefox.com. Doomless is an independent app and is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Instagram or Meta. Contact support@wyrefox.com about privacy or your data.
Free allowance records
Free protection includes a limited allowance of counted blocked attempts per Android device, without user-facing sign-in. The current allowance and remaining blocks are shown in the app. Online setup creates a Firebase anonymous authentication identity when you have no signed-in account. We store a hashed device-scoped Android identifier, that authentication ID, allocated block counts, reservation identifiers and timestamps in Firestore. Your phone stores unused reserved blocks. We do not store Instagram screen contents with these records. The device ledger is retained to prevent repeated free grants; clearing app storage does not create another grant. Contact support to request access or deletion, including when you have no account. Limited fraud-prevention records may be retained where permitted and necessary.
Your Doomless account
Free protection does not require creating or signing in to a Doomless account. An internet connection is required for initial device registration. Purchasing or restoring paid access requires a Doomless account with Google or email and password. Firebase Authentication processes the relevant identity and sign-in information. Firestore stores registered account profiles and deletion requests. We do not send passwords to analytics or RevenueCat.
Your Doomless account is separate from Instagram. Doomless does not ask for your Instagram password. Instagram handles its own content, messages and advertising.
Previous testing access
Enrollment for free closed-testing Pro grants has ended. Existing non-renewing promotional grants keep their original expiry and do not automatically renew or charge a payment. During testing, grants were issued to eligible signed-in accounts, including through tester-group verification. We retain Firebase account IDs, hashed emails and, where collected, hashed device identifiers, expiry dates and membership-check timestamps to prevent repeated grants. RevenueCat processes account IDs and promotional entitlement expiry. Limited fraud-prevention records may remain where necessary and permitted; contact support for data requests.
The phone setting used to block scrolling
If you choose to turn on protection, Doomless asks for Android Accessibility access. Doomless uses Accessibility to see and control your screen. Doomless uses this permission only to provide the Instagram protection you choose. Relevant screen information is processed temporarily on your phone.
Screen information is processed on your phone. The release app does not save or upload Instagram screen contents, private chats, passwords, screenshots or accessibility text. It does not send those contents to Firebase, RevenueCat or PostHog. You can turn protection off or revoke access in Android Settings at any time.
Data on your phone
Doomless stores onboarding completion, protection choices, analytics preference, sign-in state and cached purchase access on your device. These help the app remember your choices and check whether your plan is active. Android app storage and the sign-in and billing SDKs hold this data. We do not offer account-based backup or sync of your focus settings.
Clearing Android app storage removes local data and sign-in state. Uninstalling the app does not delete your Doomless account, cancel a subscription or delete your Instagram account.
Payments and Pro access
Google Play processes payment. RevenueCat receives an app-user ID, product and transaction records, purchase and entitlement status, and technical details needed to validate access. Before login this can be an anonymous ID; after login we use your Firebase account ID to link your plan. Wyre Fox can see account and purchase records in its service dashboards.
Doomless does not collect card numbers. Google Play and RevenueCat may retain transaction, security and legally required records. Deleting a Doomless account does not cancel a Google Play subscription.
Optional app-use analytics
On new installations, analytics is on by default. Doomless sends limited onboarding steps, Accessibility explanation choices, demo start and completion, paywall selections and purchase results to PostHog to improve setup and checkout. Instagram contents are not sent. PostHog receives a pseudonymous installation identifier, timestamps and app/device technical and network metadata, which may include your IP address. These records are not guaranteed anonymous. Doomless does not request GPS location for analytics.
Stop future analytics in Settings: Share app analytics. Protection and purchases work with analytics off. Existing saved opt-outs are preserved on updates. Current versions do not send your Firebase account ID or email address to analytics; older versions could link events to a Firebase account ID after login. Session replay, screen recording and automatic lifecycle capture are disabled. Turning analytics off does not delete earlier events; contact support@wyrefox.com for deletion. The welcome screen links this policy.
Launch notification emails
If you join the Doomless waitlist, we store your email address and signup time and Android platform choice in Google Firebase Firestore to send the launch notification. If confirmation emails are enabled, Resend processes your email address and sends a signup confirmation. We do not add you to a newsletter or sell this list. We delete the list within 90 days after sending the launch email. To remove your email sooner, contact support@wyrefox.com.
Website visits and support
Our hosting provider processes normal web-request information, such as IP address, browser details and request logs, to serve and protect the website. The public Doomless pages do not add advertising trackers or session replay. The launch waitlist form is described above. Email links open your email app; a message is sent only when you send it.
When you contact support, we receive your email address and the details you send. We use them to answer your request and resolve account, privacy or purchase issues. Please do not send passwords, card details, Instagram cookies or private conversations.
Sharing, retention and your choices
We use Firebase, Google Play, RevenueCat, PostHog and our hosting and email providers to run the app and support service. They may process data outside your country; the default app analytics endpoint is PostHog US Cloud; a different configured endpoint must be disclosed before release. We do not sell your personal data or use it for targeted advertising. Information may also be disclosed where required by law or to prevent fraud and protect the service.
We retain account data while your account exists and service or support data only as needed for the purposes above. On a verified deletion request, we delete your Doomless account and associated data under our control, including linked free-allowance, RevenueCat and PostHog records, except information we must keep for legal, security, fraud prevention or transaction obligations. Provider backups and required records may remain under their own retention rules.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export or delete information, object to processing, or complain to your local privacy regulator. Use the deletion page or email support@wyrefox.com. We may need to verify that a request is yours. You can also revoke Accessibility access, disable future analytics and clear local app storage.
Age and policy changes
Doomless is not directed to children under 13. You must also meet Instagram's minimum age and the account requirements in your location. Contact us if you believe a child has given us data that should be removed.
We may update this policy as the app changes. We show the current date here and will provide additional notice when required. The privacy policy describes actual service use; it does not promise that every build or Instagram version will work the same way.
